PSEB signs pact for power purchase

With a view to encourage private entrepreneurs in setting up power plants using new and renewable sources of energy in Punjab, the Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) has signed power purchase agreements with M/s Green Planet Energy Private Ltd for purchase of power from power plants being set up by the company. Confirming this, chairman of the board Harinder Singh Brar said M/s Green Planet Energy Private Ltd would provide 48-MW power.

The Milkfed here yesterday inaugurated a special booth for selling milk products under the trade name of Verka. A spokesperson of the Patiala milk plant here yesterday said there had been reports about a spurt in the sale of milk products and sweets prepared from spurious and adulterated milk. Arms worth Rs 8.5 lakh stolen from gun house
