2 DAV College boys were last seen at Marina Beach

The two students of DAV College, Sector 10, here, who had yesterday gone missing from Marina Beach, Chennai, during a trip to the city, were last seen by their friends walking towards the sea during high tide.

The decomposed body of a 16-year-old boy was found from Chandikotla jungle adjoining the Chandimandir area. The boy, Khalil, resident of a nearby village, had gone missing over a week back.

With less than a week left for the filing of nomination papers for the December-20 elections to the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh (MCC), the sharing of seats in the BJP-SAD-CVM alliance is proving to be a proverbial Gordian knot.

Day 1: no papers filed
Chandigarh, November 24
No nomination papers were filed for elections to the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation on the first day today. The nomination papers are to be filed with the returning officers concerned by December 1, official sources said. These can also be filed on Saturday.

PO offender held
Chandigarh, November 24
The Chandigarh police has arrested a proclaimed offender, Alamgir, from his native Navalpur village in Bihar. Alamgir was accused of abducting a minor girl of Colony number 4 here, in 1999. The girl was recovered by the police in 2000.

Despite ban orders by the district administration, school buses continue to ply on internal roads, much to the annoyance of residents of various areas, who complain that lives of small children are put to danger. Residents have been making complaints of rash driving by drivers of school buses on C roads. This had led to accidents a number of times.

First homoeopathic varsity to be set up in HP

The region is all set to have the first-ever private homoeopathic university if the claims of Dr A.M. Mathur, international scientist awardee and inventor of ‘cancer cure’ a homoeopathic drug for the dreaded disease cancer.
The founder-president of the World Homoeopathic Development Organisation (WHDO), Dr Mathur claimed that the university would be set up near Solan in Himachal Pradesh and the state government had granted him permission for the same.

Rescued Vikram examined at P’kula hospital

The Jeewan Mukta Nishulka Vidyalaya, a Panchkula-based charitable organisation, that rescued Vikram from the Government Multi-Speciality Hospital, Sector 16, Chandigarh, after he was denied diet by the hospital authorities on Wednesday afternoon, got him medically examined at General Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula, today.
