PM to visit city on September 27
Ludhiana, September 17
A red carpet reception awaits the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, on his visit to the city on September 27. Preparations are in full swing for the Prime Minister’s visit. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the prestigious North-East Railway Freight Corridor. He will also lay the foundation stone of a chain of cold stores belonging to Bharti’s Farm Fresh Food Ltd. The farm is spread over 300 acres.

The sports fraternity is upset over the use of Guru Nanak Stadium here as the venue of inauguration of railway’s freight corridor by the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, on September 27.

2 get police remand for murder

Two men — Lakhvinder Singh and Amandeep Singh — accused of murder, who were arrested by the Ludhiana police and brought here on production warrant by the Khanna police, were remanded in police custody till September 19 by a local court today.
