Ankita tops tri-city in Class X exam

Ankita Gulati brought laurels to her school and family by topping in tri-city in the matriculation examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), results of which were declared today.

Meenal stands first in city

Meenal Gakhar of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, bagged first position in the city in the CBSE Class X examination, results of which were declared today.

Boys outshine girls in Mohali

Mohali, May 27
Boys took the lead in Mohali by securing majority of the top positions in the township in the CBSE matric examination. Randeep Singh of Gian Jyoti Public school stood first in the township by securing 94.4 per cent followed by Bikramjit Singh Bindra of the same school who secured 93.8 per cent marks.

Class-X results: students overcome handicap

CBSE Class X results: Boys improve pass percentage

While girls have outclassed boys in scoring better pass percentage at the national level, results of class X in the Chandigarh region can offer some solace to the boys.

Syndicate nod to action against Sodhi Ram
Chandigarh, May 27
The Panjab University Syndicate today unanimously authorised the Vice-Chancellor to take disciplinary action against the Controller of Examination, Mr Sodhi Ram, and the Assistant Registrar (Conduct), Mr S.K. Sharma, for negligence of duty due to which the CET examination conducted by the university had to be cancelled.

Non-medicos join anti-quota stir

At least 2,000 school and university students, information technology professionals, lawyers and traders, besides medicos, from the region came to strengthen the Voice for Justice, the North India chapter of organisations formed against reservation, here today.

Chandigarh: Let us say it up front. There is an extraordinary hype surrounding “The Da Vinci Code” (Fun Republic), which is an ordinary movie to watch. For all its ballyhooed brilliance, it is a routine Hollywood thriller which would have sunk without a trace had it not been based on a controversial book, which, nevertheless is a best-seller.

The actor staged a play for special guests of Kotak Mahindra, in a purely private event. The last time he visited Chandigarh, he had made a classic offering of three plays based on short stories by Ismat Chugtai. The production was titled “Ismat Apa Ke Naam”.
