DEO seeks report in
club employee case
Ludhiana, May 21
The District Education Officer (DEO) has sought a report from the section officer of the private-aided schools department in a case of a teacher who was allegedly working as an accountant in Sutluj Club in violation of service rules.
The case against the teacher-cum-accountant, Davinder Tandon, has been taken up on the complaint of another Sutluj Club employee, Mr Chand Mohammad.
PAU to have centre of excellence

Punjab Agricultural University proposes to set up a centre of excellence under the special grant of Rs 100 crore provided by the Central Government in the Budget for 2006-07. These include centre of excellence in crop biotechnology and improvement centre of excellence in farm animal biotechnology, centre of excellence in food processing and value addition, centre of excellence in natural resource management, centre of excellence in bioenergy and centre of excellence in farm power and machinery/precision farming.

Khalsa college students shine in BBA exam
Ludhiana, May 21
BBA final year students of the Khalsa College of Women, Civil lines, have secured first, fourth and seventh position in Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Sakshi Malhotra topped the university with 80 per cent marks. Sarika Khurana (78.32 per cent) got the fourth position, while Megha Jain (76.97 percent ) secured the seventh position.

Students to boycott exams
Ludhiana, May 21
At a meeting held by representatives of student unions of 47 engineering colleges under Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, it was decided that all students of B.Tech would boycott examinations beginning from May 25.
