Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Dhundhi 4, Bhang and Solangnala 2 each and Bhuntar and Patsio 1 each and Jammu and Kashmir: Kupwara 3, Batote, Katra and Pahalgam 2 each and Banihal 1.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperature rose appreciably in east Rajasthan, rose in west Uttar Pradesh, fell in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere. Departure: It was largely above normal in east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, markedly above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and appreciably above normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 11.9°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of February 17: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Haryana and Punjab and at isolated places in north Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of February 17: Generally cloudy sky with possibility of light rain/thundershowers in some areas. Mist/shallow fog in the morning. The minimum temperature will be around 14°C.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
