Jain board to set up educational institutes
Ludhiana, February 5
Mr Kashmiri Lal Jain, president, Mr Sikander Lal Jain, Gen. Secretary and other eminent members of Shri Atma Nand Jain Education Board have announced the setting up of two educational institutions and a prayer-cum-meditation hall at the seven acre piece of land at Hussainpura, opposite Amaltas Hotel on Ludhiana-Jalandhar G T Road, here.
GCW to host lecture series

The Department of Commerce, Government College for Women, will host the Punjab Commerce and Management Association lecture series from February 8. The PCMA has started the serried in order to create awareness among students and the faculty about various contemporary issues in commerce and management.
GK test in memory of

“Youth for Nation” organised an Inter College GK Test in the memory of astronaut Kalpana Chawla recently. Prof Rajesh Marwaha, Head of Commerce Department, Kamla Lohtia Sanatan Dharam College and chairman “youth for nation”, while declaring the result said in this competition about 3,000 students from 18 colleges of Ludhiana participated.

Seminar on ‘Financial Sector Reforms’ organised

The Commerce Department of the Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan campus Model Town, Ludhiana organised a seminar on the topic “Financial Sector Reforms” yesterday. Ms Manju Chawla , Principal of the college, welcomed the chair person Dr S.K. Singla, Prof, Head Business and Management Department, Punjab Agricultural University and the resource persons Dr A.K. Vashisht and Dr Karamjit Singh from University Business School, Punjab University, Chandigarh.
Seminar on physics
Ludhiana, February 5
The Physics Association of SCD Government College here organised a seminar at the Sahir Auditorium yesterday. Physics teachers from various parts of the state such as Kapurthala, Firozepore, Hoshiarpur and Mahilpur participated in the seminar. Dr Manjit Singh, a senior scientist, presented his paper on laser studies.
22 Indian projects get e-governance awards

Oracle has initiated the “Oracle Excellence in e-governance Awards” and has announced the 22 Indian e-government project as the winners. The awards were handed over by Mr Charles Philips, president, Oracle Corporation, at a function held yesterday in a city hotel.
DIMT celebrate Basant Panchmi

Students of MBA, M.Sc (IT), PGDCA, BCA and DCA of the Doraha institute of Management and Technology celebrated Basant Panchmi with fervours yesterday said Dr R.S Gupta, Director, DIMT, in a press note.
