He said the person who sent the messages used threatening language and asked him to go back. He said he also sent a reply to the person and told him that he was coming to Sirsa come what may. Mr Dalal said the Estimate Committee had so far checked the records of 22 government departments and found big irregularities in the working of the these departments during the Chautala regime. He said though the Congress government did not believe in political witchhunt, but it would bring before the people all irregularities committed by the INLD government. |

Birender Singh justifies proposal on HC
Chandigarh, December 3 Talking to TNS, the Finance Minister said Chandigarh was kept out of the jurisdiction of the proposed high court because it would have raised inter-state issues between Punjab and Haryana. As a result, the proposal for a separate high court would get mired in controversy. In 2002, the Om Prakash Chautala-led state government had passed a resolution in the Assembly proposing a separate high court for the state with its jurisdiction covering Chandigarh as well. According to Mr Birender Singh, the resolution passed in the previous Assembly had more to do with politics than with a genuine effort for setting up a separate high court in Haryana. The proposal for a separate high court adopted by the state Cabinet here on November 23 had confined its jurisdiction to Haryana only so that inter-state issues were not raked up by the proposal. |
