BKU to hold anti-WTO rally on November 18

The Bhartiya Kisan Union will hold a massive ‘kisan panchayat’ at Delhi on November 18 against the WTO regime and submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, to apprise him with the adverse effects of globalisation on the farmers community.
Youth fest brings forth students’ talent

The 47th Youth and Heritage Festival, going on at Ramgarhia Girls College here, entered its third day today with participants from different districts presenting their best in various events.
The day was dedicated to competitions of Indian orchestra, quiz contests (both
preliminary and final), instrumental music and giddha.

PAU youth festival from today
Ludhiana, November 9
The Inter College Annual Youth Festival of Punjab Agricultural University will be organised from November 10 to 18 at the varsity campus.
Dr. l.S. Brar, Director, Students’ Welfare, said the festival would begin on
November 10, with a debate and declamation contest at the Students’ Home.

UGC seminar to be held at Guru Nanak Girls College

In an attempt to make the students familiar with the torch-bearers of immense and sparkling knowledge, the Postgraduate Department of Guru Nanak Girls College will organise a UGC sponsored national seminar on the topic ‘Changing scenario and Punjabi literature’ on November 11and 12.

Mita Pandit enthrals students

Mita Pandit, scion of the Gwalior gharana, gave a scintillating performance at Master Tara Singh College here yesterday. She was performing under the aegis of SPIC MACAY (Ludhiana chapter).
She has won critical acclaim as one of the finest artistes in Hindustani
classical music and is sixth in the unbroken lineage of musicians of the
legendary Pandit family of Gwalior.

Students apprised of traffic rules
Ludhiana, November 9
Students of Baba Isher Singh (N) Senior Secondary School, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana, were apprised with the traffic rules by Inspector Sarabjit Singh from the Punjab Police.
He told the students that it was necessary to adopt traffic rules on roads to
make life safe.
Inter-school colouring contest
