Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperature rose appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, rose in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were largely below normal in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh, markedly below normal in Himachal Pradesh and appreciably below normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 40.7°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of 5th May: Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of 5th May: Mainly clear sky. Maximum temperature will be around 35°C.
