Ministry nod to rail line project?

The Rail Lao Sangharsh Samiti, which called on Union Ministers and held a dharna at Jantar Mantar in the Capital yesterday, received positive response from them regarding their demands. The samiti said that the project for connecting Jhajjar with rail line has been okayed by the Railway Ministry, but is pending with the Planning Commission.
Erratic supply of canal water puts farmers in a fix

Farmers in the villages of Gohana sub-division have not been receiving their due share of irrigation water for the past one year or so due to erratic canal water supply and alleged theft of irrigation water as a result of which water does not reach the tail-end of the distribution system.

Passenger train derails

Panic gripped the Delhi junction this morning when four coaches of a local Saharanpur-Shamli-Delhi passenger train derailed. However, there were no reports of any casualty or injury to anyone.
