New Delhi: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has complained to the Lieutenant-Governor about the possibility of disturbance during Thursday’s counting of votes in the Gole Market Assembly constituency.

Father-son duo held for restaurateur’s murder
New Delhi, December 3
The main conspirators in the murder of a restaurant owner in Safdarjung Enclave were arrested by the Delhi Police Crime Branch. The conspirators, the father-son duo of Tule Ram (50) and Joginder (27), were arrested by the sleuths after they received a secret information that the duo would be boarding a bus from Sohna Chowk in Gurgaon at around 6 pm on December 2.

The Noida administration has announced the final cost of flats in six sectors with a view to providing relief to the allotees. Prices of four-storeyed flats have been fixed. Some relief has been given to the fourth floor flat allotees in all categories of flats.

Bid to rob petrol pump foiled, 4 held
Sonepat: With the arrest of four persons, the Gohana police foiled an attempt to rob a petrol pump on Gohana-Panipat Road, about 40 km from here last night. According to a report, the police have seized a country-made pistol, a live cartridge, two iron rods, a motorcycle without number and other weapons from the arrested persons.

In a bid to grab the Panipat seat from the sitting Congress MLA, the supremo of the Sarv Jaatiya Panchayat, Mr Om Prakash Jain, who won by a margin of more than 20,000 votes in the 1996 assembly polls, has started his campaign for the ensuing assembly elections in Haryana which are due next year. Mr Jain was a minister in the Bansi Lal and Om Prakash Chautala governments.

Court action threatened over supply of contaminated water

Widespread resentment prevails among the residents of Mohalla Kalan and its adjoining areas against the supply of contaminated drinking water and the failure of the Public Health Department authorities to repair the saluice valve, which was leaking profusely for the past eight months in the area. According to a report, the tap water was contaminated and gave foul smell.
