Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Rajasthan, above normal in west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 7.5°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of 17th November 2003: Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab. Weather wll be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
