Regretting the insensitive behaviour of the Delhi Police and the violence that followed the death of a youth, allegedly in police custody, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said the police need to introspect and begin a sensitisation exercise, so that people do not lose faith in the force.

Armed men hustle bank staff into toilet, decamp with Rs 5.8 lakh
Ghaziabad, October 22
Six armed robbers looted the State Bank of Patiala’s Dasna Branch, which falls under the Mussori police station area, of Rs 5.8 lakh after repeatedly stabbing the bank manager, D C Gupta, at 3.30 pm on Tuesday. During the hold-up, about half a dozen employees were beaten up and looked in a bathroom.

Third incident of throat being slit in Sihani Gate area
Ghaziabad, October 22
The body of a 13-year-old boy has been found with the throat slit in the Sihani Gate police station area. The assailants had dumped the body behind Nagar Nigam workshop in Subash Nagar. The murder weapon, a blade, has been recovered from the scene of the crime.
