Rain or thundershowers have been reported at most places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at many places in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the east Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in west Rajasthan. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Haryana: Naraingarh 16, Ambala 12, Chandigarh and Chhachhrauli 4 each, Jagadhari 3 and Nilokheri and Thanesar 1 each; Himachal Pradesh: Nagrota Surian 14, Ghamroor 12, Kangra and Shimla 11 each, Sujanpur Tira 9, Berthin and Barsar 8 each, Khairi 6, Bangana and Nadaun 5 each, Kahu 4, Baijnath, Chaura, Dharampur, Nahan, Paonta Sahib, Rajgarh, Sundernagar and Sunnibbhajji 3 each and Arki, Bhuntar, Kandaghat, Pandoh and Una 2 each; Jammu and Kashmir: Basholi 11, Patti 8, Jammu 6, Bhoond 4 and Batote 3; Punjab: Shahpur Kandi 10, RS damsite 8, Patiala 7 and Nangal and Ropar 2 each; east Rajasthan: Banswara 3; east Uttar Pradesh: Shardanagar 10, Ayodhya 9, Neemsar 8, Balrampur and Varanasi Airport 7 each, Katerniaghat 6, Kakardharighat 4, Elginbridge and Sultanpur 3 each, Bahraich, Bhatpurwaghat, Chandradeepghat and Mirzapur 2 each and Allahabad 1; west Uttar Pradesh: Bareilly 3; and Uttaranchal: Hardwar 8, Dehra Dun 4, Marora, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi 3 each and Mukteshwar and Pantnagar 2 each.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 3: Rain or thundershowers are likely at many places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at a few places in the rest of the region.

Heavy Rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of August 3: Mainly cloudy sky with a few spells of rain or thundershowers, one or two may be heavy in some areas.
