No MC House meeting in
past three months Ambala, July 19 The councillors are demanding that a House meeting should be called immediately. About three months have elapsed since the last MC House meeting was held. The Leader of the Congress in the MC, Mr Hira Lal
Yadav, said an action committee had been formed to ensure that House meetings were held regularly. “Our efforts are yet to bear fruit as a House meeting has not been held since Mr Suresh Garg became the officiating president,” he said. He said the officials concerned had not been able to give any satisfactory reply regarding when the meeting was going to be held. “We have submitted a written application in this regard. Despite the municipal councillors seeking that the House meeting should be held, there is an inexplicable delay in holding it,” he said. An action committee member said the House meeting was supposed to be held every month. “When a written application has been submitted, the House meeting should have been called within 10 days,” he said. He stated that the works sub- committee meeting was scheduled to take place last week but due to another meeting by the Deputy Commissioner, it had to be postponed. The sub-committee members are going to be issued a fresh agenda for the meeting, which is likely to take place on Tuesday. “The meeting of the sanitation sub-committee is going to be held soon thereafter. Immediately after the meetings of the sub-committees are completed, the House meeting will be held,” Mr Garg stated.
