Patiala House courts likely to be shifted to Rouse Avenue

The New Delhi District Courts, housed in the erstwhile palace of Maharaja of Patiala near India Gate in the Capital, may soon be moved to another area to accommodate a greater number of courts, lawyers’ chambers and litigants, the Supreme Court was informed today.

Nine held for racket in spurious petro products
New Delhi, July 15
The Economic Offences Wing today arrested nine persons who were involved in a racket of spurious petroleum products at Jasola in Sarita Vihar area. The police claimed to have recovered more than 38,500 litres of spurious diesel and 15,000 litres of kerosene from the godown. Besides, the police also seized six blue plastic drums containing some chemical liquid and six bags of chemical powder.

Kidnapping case solved; three held
New Delhi, July 15
With the arrest of three persons, the Special Cell today claimed to have solved a case of kidnapping, in which a businessman’s child was kidnapped when he was returning home from school in the Rohini area in North-West district on July 10.

‘Baba gang’ smashed; kingpin caught
Sonepat, July 15
With the arrest of Surender Baba, the Sonepat police have claimed to have busted the ‘Baba gang’ of criminals, which was involved in dacoity at the farmhouse of Satya Dev Tyagi near GT Road. He was produced in the court on Monday and remanded in two-day police custody.
