Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Baijnath 3 and Nahan 2.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell in east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were markedly above normal in west Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in east Rajasthan, above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably below normal in east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 43.2°C recorded at Jalore (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 18.4°C recorded at Adampur (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 12: Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of October 12: Mainly clear sky. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 33°C and 20°C, respectively.
