Hungarian wins Nobel Prize
Stockholm, October 10
Hungarian novelist Imre Kertesz won the 2002 Nobel Prize in Literature, the Swedish Academy said today. Auschwitz survivor Kertesz won the $ 1 million prize for writing that upholds the fragile experience of the individual against the barbaric arbitrariness of history, the academy said in its citation.
