40 die of diarrhoea in Nepal
Kathmandu, June 26
An outbreak of viral diarrhoea has killed 40 persons in three remote districts in west Nepal since mid-May, a health official said today. Regional health official Krishna Bahadur Chand told mediapersons at Dipayal in west Nepal that 19 persons had died in Bajhang district, 18 in Doti and three in Baitadi district from the disease caused by contaminated water. Gujarat village rehabilitated
New Delhi, June 26
Hingaris, a sleepy hamlet in Kutch, has become the first village in the quake-devastated Gujarat to be fully rehabilitated with complete infrastructure. The village has been rehabilitated by the Indian American Foundation, with 106 houses built in 76 days. The village with quake-resistant homes has a crèche, along with a children’s park, library, school. TNS
