Jalandhar, November 5
The Creative Lens Society and women empowerment cell of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organised a screening of documentary films of film-maker Daljeet Ami.
Students were shown two films made by Ami titled ‘Sewa’ and ‘Not Every Time’. Principal of the institute Rekha Kalia Bhardwaj and in charge of the society Ramnita Saini Sharda welcomed Ami and journalist Ashwani Malhotra. The first film was based on the preservation of ancient literature manuscripts. Ami said: “We are not preserving our heritage, but we are also not thinking about what we are losing.”

Ami’s second film ‘Not Every Time’ was based on the murder case of Kiranjeet Kaur. The incident took place in 1997 at Barnala. Ami portrayed the agony of women through the picture. A panel discussion was also organised on the ‘agony of women’. Students were apprised on the importance of speaking up and disclosing facts rather than hiding them. Head of multimedia department Jagjeet Bhatia, Rama Sharma, Jasleen Kaur, Ashish Kumar and Jatinder Kumar were among those others present.
