Polls: Code of conduct enforced
New Delhi, October 4 “We will ensure serious enforcement of MCC during the entire electoral process. Strict instructions have been issued to parties in power and the government to adhere to the conduct,” said the Chief Election Officer. In pursuant of the Supreme
Court orders, the Delhi election office has decided to include the option of ‘None of the Above’ in the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). “We want people to make full use of this provision as it empowers them to vote even if they don’t like the candidates,” Dev said. To keep an eye on all the parties, the election office has deputed three flying squads at each district who will closely monitor the activities and movements of the candidates. A general observer and an expenditure observer have been assigned in every constituency for supervising the model code. |
