Efforts must to ensure health facilities for all: Ansari
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, October 3
Highlighting the need to invigourate healthcare system in the country, Vice-President Hamid Ansari today said efforts should be made to ensure that health facilities are made available to every citizen of the country.

“As a country, we have made great progress in medicine and other provisions of health and yet we have a very long way to go,” Ansari said, addressing at the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Holy Family Hospital here.

Pointing at Delhi’s healthcare scenario, he said that every morning one can notice long queues of people outside hospitals in Delhi, waiting and praying for their turn. Adding, he said that a healthy workforce can contribute much more to the development of a country than a less healthy one and this link of good health to economy has been established scientifically.

“We have very long way to go as compared to other countries and societies which are more fortunate. But that should not be a depressing thought but an invigourating one. We have to travel down that road as quickly as possible,” Ansari stressed.

DU student’s video clip made in washroom
The girl’s and boy’s washrooms are separated by a wall which is not joined to the roof
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, October 3
A 25-year-old Delhi University student today complained to the police, saying that her MMS clip was made when she was using the washroom at a university department on north campus.

According to the police, the girl is in her final year of a master’s degree. She reported to the police that she suspects her video clip was made by a male student while she was using the washroom of the department at about 12.30 pm today.

In her complaint to the police, the victim claimed that when she was using the washroom, she looked up and saw a person’s hand holding a mobile phone. He was probably recording the inside of the bathroom. The girl’s and the boy’s washrooms are separated by a wall.

“The wall is not joined to the roof and this leaves scope for people to peep from either side,” said the victim in her complaint.

When she saw the person’s hand, she started shouting. People knocked on the boy’s side of the bathroom, but no one opened it. When they broke the door open, they found no one inside, according to some students.

The students claimed that the bathroom had a window that opened to a pipe, leading to the ground. Some lab attendants reportedly saw a person running away, but no one has been recognised.

The police have registered a case in regard to the incident under Section 354C (any man who watches, or captures the image of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code at the Maurice Nagar police station.

The police are searching for the culprit though the victim is unable to identify him.
