Rs 16 lakh looted in P’kula

In a broad-daylight incident, five-armed robbers looted Rs 16 lakh from two employees of a petrol pump in Amravati Enclave, Panchkula, when they were on their way to deposit the money (collected from the pump) at a nearby branch of the State bank of India (SBI).

Setback for Admn

The UT Administration, which is already facing a shortage of officials, suffered a setback when the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued transfer orders of two UT cadre IAS officers - Tanvi Garg and Rodney L Ralte. The MHA has transferred both the officials to Mizoram.

42-year-old woman killed in accident

A 42-year-old woman was killed in a road accident at Sector 15 today. A mid-day meal worker, Usha Rani, was hit by a mini-truck while crossing a road. This is the third accident in the past three days.
