Ex-DGSE Pannu out to malign me: Maluka
Bathinda, October 3 Maluka has been accused of helping his driver clear Class X examination through unfair means. Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a sports event here, Maluka said, “The ‘Pannu Gang’ is after me. They have no work but to mire me in controversies. When one falls flat, they hatch another.” The Minister was referring to former Director-General of School Education (DGSE) Kahan Singh Pannu. Both have been accusing each other of conspiracies. Pannu declined to comment when The Tribune sought his reaction to the allegation. “I have nothing to say,” he said. Maluka said: “My driver has been accused (in a section of the media) of making someone else appear for the examination in his place. I openly challenge the reports and am ready to bear the consequences if he is found guilty. He appeared for the examination himself and there is no chance of someone impersonating him.” He said even some of his relatives had failed to clear the examination. With his tongue firmly in cheek, he joked, “Things are getting out of control. At times, I think of filing defamation suits. But if I start doing so, I will lose count of how many cases I have filed. Everyday, I am dragged into a new controversy.” |
