3 Nepalese men held for Manali gang rape
Manali, June 6
The Kullu police on Thursday arrested three Nepalese men for allegedly gang-raping a 30-year-old US national in Manali on June 3 and seized the tipper used by them for perpetrating the crime.

Another JeM militant killed as Pulwama gunbattle ends
Anantnag, June 6
The 19-hour gunbattle between militants and security forces in Pulwama district of south Kashmir ended this afternoon with the killing of a holed-up ultra, taking the number of militants killed to two. Divisional commander of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) outfit Altaf Baba alias ‘Gazi Baba’ was killed in the encounter yesterday.

Top Indian private sector groups have begun pitching for defence deals by joining hands with major foreign firms. One deal available for grabs is a just-announced Rs 12,000 crore order of the Indian Air Force to replace its 56 vintage Avro aircraft. The groups going for this deal include the Tatas, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Bharat Forge and Mukesh Ambani’s new aerospace firm.
