A confrontation between the UPA Government and the Opposition is brewing over the draft report of the Joint Parliamentary Committee probing the 2G Spectrum allocation issue with the Government seeking to douse the inflamed Opposition to wait for the final version.

2G: JPC draft report punches holes in CAG’s loss calculation
New Delhi, April 19
The Joint Parliamentary Committee probing the 2G Spectrum allocation issue punched holes into the basis on which the Comptroller and Auditor General of India arrived at Rs 1.76 lakh crore presumptive loss describing the exercise as “ill-conceived” while being critical of the earlier NDA Government for forgoing Rs 42,000 crore revenue as licence fee when it offered migration package to telecom operators.

Musharraf arrested, shifted to police HQ
 Pervez Musharraf General (retd) Pervez Musharraf was shifted to the police headquarters in Islamabad from his farmhouse residence at Chak Shahzad on Friday, hours after the former military ruler surrendered to the authorities in the judges’ detention case.
