8-yr-old girl abducted, freed
Nawanshahr, November 22
An eight-year-old girl was allegedly abducted by two unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreants in the morning at Jasso Mazara village, situated on the Nawanshahr-Jalandhar highway, and later she was left in the village.

Three snatchers arrested

The Banga police has arrested three snatchers, identified as Manjinder Singh, alias Sonu, Sandip Kumar both residents of Chak Kalal village, and Gurvinder Singh, alias Luggu, of Perozepur village, and seized a stolen motorcycle and five mobile phones from their possession.

Seven drug peddlers held
Phagwara, November 22
The police arrested seven drug peddlers, identified as Charanjit, alias Gora, Amarjit, Jasbir, Avtar, Makhan Singh, Manish Kumar and Bishan Dass, and recovered 1.515 kg of intoxicant powder from their possession in the subdivision today.

8-yr-old girl abducted, freed

An eight-year-old girl was allegedly abducted by two unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreants in the morning at Jasso Mazara village, situated on the Nawanshahr-Jalandhar highway, and later she was left in the village.

As per information, the girl, a primary school student, was abducted when she was going to attend her school in the morning. The police was informed. On the basis of suspicion, the Behram police has also booked a youth of nearby Bharo Mazara village.

But, late in the evening, the girl was spotted on the outskirts of the village by some residents. She was restored to her parents.

The SP(D) Satpal Singh Bhangu, DSP, Banga, Bhagwant Singh and SHO, Behram, Surjit Kumar, visited the house of the girl. “The girl seems terrified and not yet mentally prepared to tell anything about her abduction or to give any clue about the miscreants,” said the SHO, adding that the police had been investigating the case.

The Banga police has arrested three snatchers, identified as Manjinder Singh, alias Sonu, Sandip Kumar both residents of Chak Kalal village, and Gurvinder Singh, alias Luggu, of Perozepur village, and seized a stolen motorcycle and five mobile phones from their possession.

They were involved in a number of incidents of snatching of cash, mobile phones, vehicles, etc, in the area, said a press note issued by SSP Dhanpreet Kaur here today.

The police arrested seven drug peddlers, identified as Charanjit, alias Gora, Amarjit, Jasbir, Avtar, Makhan Singh, Manish Kumar and Bishan Dass, and recovered 1.515 kg of intoxicant powder from their possession in the subdivision today.

The police said all seven drug peddlers were nabbed during nakas at different places.
