Students hold dharna near Phillaur’s residence
Jalandhar, November 9 The protesting students earlier gathered at the Desh Bhagat Yadgaar Hall from where they started their march towards Phillaur’s residence. They raised slogans against the state government. PSU leaders Karam Sekha and Mangaljit Singh said that students pursuing some courses were exempted of their fee as per the post-matriculation scholarship scheme of the Centre. They said the state government and educational institutions had not implemented the rules, as a result of which crores of rupees were paid by students for courses which otherwise would have been free. They claimed that there was a deliberate attempt to keep the students of classes XI and XII out of the ambit of these schemes. — TNS |
