PWSSB engineers fumes over reemployment policy
Jalandhar, November 27 Engineers of the board have threatened to launch a struggle over the issue as they say that the policy of reemployment would block the entire promotion channel of the junior officers, who have been working in the department for the last over 25-30 years. Satnam Singh, president of the Diploma Engineers Association, PWSSB, said the pick-and-choose policy came as a bolt from the blue for the junior officers, who had been waiting for promotions since years. “High political connections and nexus among higher department authorities, private contractors and senior officials determine the selection of officers for reemployment. This practice will not only block the promotion for juniors, but also help the senior authorities to get going with the corrupt practices, by letting them choose employees of their choice,” alleged Satnam Singh. He threatened that if the policy was not discontinued, the junior engineers would be left with no other option but to gherao the head office of the board in the coming days. |
