Jalandhar, May 4 The changed date coincides with that of the entrance exam of MCA of Panjab University (PU), which has put the future of scores of students in lurch. Even the exam of MSc of PU is on the very next day on June 1. As per the previous date sheet, the exam of Linear Algebra was to be held on May 8. The parents have appealed the PU authorities to postpone the exam date after June 5. “My daughter has been preparing for both the entrance exams for the past many months. She even joined coaching classes ahead of the exams but the change in the date sheet has put her in a dilemma,” said Indu Awasthi mother of one of the student. The students and parents even approached the GNDU authorities in this regard but nothing has shaped up till date. “Besides this we also wrote to the Vice-Chancellor of PU to reconsider their decision regarding the change in the date sheet. The varsity should acknowledge our genuine problem as the future
of our children is at stake”, she added. Raghuvir Singh, another parent whose daughter is studying at the local Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, also maintained that the change in the date sheet has left the students in deep trouble. “We have spent a good amount on the prospectus and coaching classes for both the entrance exams. Jalandhar, May 4 Many students also feel that since the results of various courses were uploaded on the site at one go on April 30 night, there must have been some confusion owing to which the result of a bunch of students in a row could not get added up. A student of the first semester of Rayat and Bahra College for Women, Hoshiarpur, said the results of most of the students of the college were still awaited. Jaspal Singh, Deputy Registrar, said some results were pending due to a code mismatch or wrong entry by the students in the OMR sheets of answer books. He said all such clarifications were being passed on to the respective colleges for their comments and corrections. He added that all pending results would be cleared by May 7. Cong complains to EC against ‘biased’ ADGP
Jalandhar, May 4 A report in this regard was published in The Tribune today. The report stated that though the PAP authorities had maintained that the ground was to be used for the training of PAP personnel only, it was found used for PAP cricket nursery which was inaugurated by ADGP Chadha yesterday morning. The Congress had approached the authorities concerned to allow the use of the PAP ground for the rally of Sonia Gandhi. PCCC media manager Varinder Sharma said Chadha should immediately be transferred from Jalandhar for violation of the model code of conduct. “The biased act of ADGP Chadha at the behest of the SAD-BJP government will definitely affect the fair and peaceful elections in Jalandhar. Under these circumstances, the Congress apprehends foul play at
the hands of the officer and hence he should be transferred at the earliest,” he added. Sharma also levelled allegations that ADGP Chadha was trying to influence about 3,000 PAP personnel to cast their vote in favour of the SAD-BJP combine. “The officer is playing in the hands of the state government. He may even influence the PAP personnel who will be deployed for election duty in various parts of the state. It was on his refusal at the 11th hour that we had to shift the venue of the rally to Burlton Park which was not that secure a place for the massive rally of Sonia Gandhi,”
he maintained. However, despite repeated attempts ADGP Chadha was not available for comments. |
