Changes in uplinking policy okayed
Cabinets allows FII investment up to 26 p.c. in news channels
New Delhi, October 20
In an obvious move to help Prasar Bharati, the Union Cabinet today approved changes in the uplinking policy under which sports channel and rights management companies having TV broadcasting rights should share their feed with the public broadcaster for cricket and other games held in India and abroad for terrestrial transmission and DTH broadcasting.

NRIs can evict tenants: SC
New Delhi, October 20
In a major relief to thousands of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) having properties in Punjab and Union Territory of Chandigarh, the Supreme Court has ruled that they can evict tenants from their houses under the East Punjab Urban Rent Registration Act, 1949 if the same are required for their “genuine” use.

Ragging case: 9 students get police remand

The police today arrested Tanuj Rai, Prasunn Kumar Verma, Rohan Bhandari, Vishwajit, Ankit Srivastava, Sidhartha Kumar, Pramod Hingmang, Naval Malani, Abhijit Biswas, students of the Dr Ambedkar National Institute of Technology who were named by Amit Gangwar in his suicide note for allegedly harassing him during ragging.
