New Delhi, October 20
Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala was here today questioned by officials of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the JBT teachers recruitment scam case.

Mr Chautala was questioned by a DIG-rank official along with the Investigating Officer probing the case for about one-and-a-half hours at his Lodi Estate residence here.

During questioning, "Mr Chautala gave conflicting and contradictory answers," agency sources claimed. They, however, refused to elaborate.

According to CBI sources, Mr Chautala, who is also the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) chief, was summoned to the agency Headquarters for questioning, but he expressed his inability to present himself before the officials at the CBI office due to illness.

Subsequently, the investigation team thought it fit not to waste any time and question him at his residence, sources said.

The questioning was necessitated as his name had cropped up during the investigation, sources said pointing that the former Chief Minister had also held the Education portfolio with him during INLD's regime, sources said.

This was the first time, former Chief Minister was questioned in connection with the JBT teachers recruitment scam case.

On September 23, INLD chief's son Ajay Chautala was questioned by the CBI in connection with the same case.
