Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan. Weather was dry in the rest of the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose markedly in Jammu and Kashmir, rose in Punjab and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably above normal in east Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 45.2°C recorded at Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 31: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Punjab and Uttaranchal. Isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in Haryana, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in east Utar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 31: Partly cloudy sky with dust haze. Duststorm/thunderstorm accompanied by squall is likely in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 42°C.
