Hurriyat unaffected by Geelani’s decision

Srinagar, May 29
The moderate Hurriyat Conference today said hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s decision not to visit Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus on June 2 will not interfere in its determination to move forward on the resolution of the Kashmir issue.

“It was for them to take a decision and they have taken it,” a senior Hurriyat leader, Prof Abdul Ghani Bhat, told UNI here.

“We are not concerned and bothered with their decision. It is their decision, but it doesn’t interfere with our determination and resolve to move forward and seek a resolution of the Kashmir issue,” he said.

However, Professor Bhat refused further comment on the breakaway group’s decision to reject Pakistan’s invitation to visit that country and PoK on June 2. — UNI
