PM, Nehru are poles apart, says AICC spokesman Shimla, March 25 Addressing a press conference here today, he said the two leaders were ideologically and politically poles apart. While Pt Nehru was a secular and liberal to the core, Mr Vajpayee, who came from the Sangh Parivar, represented a sectarian, communal and divisive ideology. By making such a comparison Mr Advani had unsuccessfully tried to raise the stature of Mr Vajpayee in the eyes of public but in the process distorted history and undermined the contribution of Pt Nehru. The Congress spokesperson hailed Mr Vajpayee as the “master of doublespeak” and things had come to such a pass that no one knew what he actually stood for. |
