Heat wave conditions have abated in Haryana.

Rainfall: Rain or snow has been reported at most places in Himachal Pradesh, at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Haryana and at isolated places in west Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Haryana: Ambala A.P.1, Himachal Pradesh: Dhundhi 3, Bhang, Kangra, and Solang Nullah 2 each and Bhuntar and Dharamsala 1 each, Jammu and Kahsmir: Srinagar 3, Pahalgam 2 and Quazigund 1 and Uttaranchal: Tehri 1, Snowfall reports are: Himachal Pradesh: Patsio 33 cm.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell largely in Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably in Punjab, and fell in Himachal Pradesh. Temperatures rose in east Uttar Pradesh and changed a little elsewhere. Departures: They were largely below normal in Jammu and Kashmir, markedly above normal in Haryana, appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, above normal in Punjab and normal in west Rajasthan. The highest temperature in the region was 44.3°C recorded at Allahabad and Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of April 29: Rain or thundershowers are likely at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, at a few places in Haryana and Uttaranchal and at isoalted places in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in Rajasthan.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of April 29: partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain/thunderhsowers in some areas. Maximum temperature will be aorund 38° C.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
