Differently-abled girl raped:
A differently-abled girl was allegedly raped in Danewala Satkosi village here on Sunday evening. She has been admitted to the local Civil Hospital. A case had been registered against Lakhwinder Singh, the police said.

Petrol pump looted: An unspecified number of motorcycle-borne miscreants looted a petrol pump on Malout Road on Sunday night. They stole Rs 12,000 and a .12 bore rifle from the staff. A case had been registered under the Arms Act, the police said.

Ban on sale of crackers:
District Magistrate Arun Sekhri has banned the sale and storage of crackers without valid licences issued by respective SDMs in the district. The SDMs were directed to issue a minimum number of licences and ensure proper implementation of the Explosive Act 1984. The DM has banned storage and sale of crackers in crowded and  residential areas. These orders would remain in force till November 26.

Liquor seized:
The Dharamgarh police seized 44 cases of liquor (without permit) from Gurcharan Singh of Kishangarh village in Mansa district. He was arrested by the police from Ladal village while carrying liquor in his jeep. He was produced in a court at Sunam that remanded him in judicial custody for 14 days. The Sherpur police also seized 60 bottles of liquor from Jagwinder Singh of Panjgrian village.

Woman murdered: A 35-year-old woman was on Monday allegedly murdered by Tarsem at her house in Mohrana village, about 9 km from Malerkotla. The victim, Rekha Rani, is survived by her husband and three children. Daljit Singh Virk, Station House Officer of Amargarh police station, said they were yet to ascertain the motive behind the murder. A case has been registered against Tarsem, who is at large.

Two arrested with charas:
The Jogindernagar police have arrested two persons for possessing charas in separate incidents. Vinay Kumar of Kathla in the district was arrested today for possessing 29 gm of charas at Majharnu under Jogindernagar police station. In another incident, the police arrested Balbir of Jogindernagar for possessing 48 gm charas last night.
