A man died after a recklessly driven unidentified vehicle hit the motorcycle he was riding on, near the dumping ground.
New Panjab University Registrar appointed amid hullabaloo

Panjab University (PU) today appointed Colonel Guljit Singh Chaddha on the post of Registrar which was lying vacant for the last eight months. The appointment was approved in the Senate chaired by PU Vice-Chancellor Arun Kumar Grover after there were heated arguments and objections were raised by Senators against the selection of the candidate by the selection committee.

A camp under the ‘Safe mother-safe child programme’ was held at Bedi Hospital, Sector 33, today.
The camp was held to spread awareness on preventable diseases in women after 40 years of age. About 75 per cent women suffer from Vitamin D deficiency. Early detection of breast and cervical cancer in women can prevent the two most common cancers in women above 40 years of age, said Dr RS
