Thieves decamp with LCD, CCTV camera
Kalka, August 25 According to information, the miscreants committed the crime yesterday night by breaking open the windowpane of the office of the museum of the temple. They also stole the CCTV camera installed outside the office. Harnam Giri, chowkidar of the office, came to know about the incident in the morning today. He immediately informed the police and Vedpal Kadiyan, in charge of the Bhima Devi museum, about the theft. The chowkidar said he went home after locking the door of the office at 5 pm on Sunday. The police are investigating the matter. |
Haryana BJP launches Vijay Sankalp Yatra
Kalka/Panchkula, August 25 Rattan Lal Kataria, MP from Ambala, his wife Banto Kataria, Krishan Pal Gujjar, Union Minister of State for Surface Transport, Kanwarpal Singh Gujjar, state general secretary of the BJP, and Vishal Seth, Panchkula BJP chief, were also present during the launch of the yatra. After performing the yajna, BJP leaders and workers assembled at the Gandhi Chowk in a large number. A cavalcade of vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, followed the leaders from Kalka to Pinjore. Earlier, Krishan Pal Gurjar, Union Minister of State for Transport and Roads, said Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda should wait and watch to see a BJP Chief Minister in another two months after the Assembly elections in the state. Scores of BJP leaders from Panchkula welcomed the yatra at the Majri Chowk and accompanied it to Barwala, Raipur Rani and Naraingarh. Raj Kumar Saini, MP from Kurukshetra, welcomed the yatra in Raipur Rani at a function. Senior BJP leaders, including Sham Lal Bansal, Gian Chand Gupta, Pramod Singla, Deepak Manchanda, Rajesh Gaur, Virander Singh Bhau, among others were present on the occasion. |

Disrespect to Tricolour
Chandigarh, August 25 The petition has been filed by advocate Mandeep Kaur. A similar petition has also been filed by a social activist against the actor and in that too Mallika Sherawat was declared ex parte earlier this month. With this, Sherawat will no longer be able to give her side of the story in the case. Earlier, the court had issued notice to the actor for allegedly showing disrespect to the National Flag. Besides the actor, the court has also declared the producer and the director of the film as ex parte after they too failed to respond. The case has now been adjourned to October 14. |

All-India Dhruv Pandove Trophy from Aug 28
Chandigarh, August 25 According to Captain Sushil Kapoor, tournament director, a total of 8 teams are participating in the event and are drawn into two pools with Pool– A, including Punjab, Vidharbha, Andhra and Assam, while Pool-B includes HPCA (Himachal Pradesh), Baroda, MPCA (Madhya Pradesh) and Bengal Cricket Association. The league stage matches will be of two days duration with a minimum of 100 overs play on each day while the final will be a four-day affair to be played from September 6 to 9 at Dhruv Pandove Stadium, Patiala. The winners of the championship will be awarded with a cash award of Rs 1 lakh along with the winners’ trophy while the runners-up will be awarded with Rs 50,000 along with the runners-up trophy. The organisers will also select the ‘man of the match’ award for each match besides awarding best bowler, best batsman and a player of the tournament. |
