50 visitors pledge organs at PGI

Nearly 50 visitors pledged their organs after attending a public forum at the PGI on World Organ Donation Day. This added to over 700 individuals who have pledged to donate their organs at the institute, in the past four years.
City’s first four-laned underpass to come up in Sec 17
Chandigarh, August 6
The city’s first underpass that will be built at the ISBT-17 roundabout will be 16-metre wide with four lanes. The underpass that is expected to be built at a cost of Rs 25 crore will also have a dedicated passage for pedestrians.
The underpass will accommodate traffic moving from the Press light point towards the Aroma light point.
Congress Councillor Pardeep Chhabra said the depth of the underpass would be about seven metre and provisions would be made for the stormwater drainage (SWD) system.
Only 7.4% city consumers declare actual power load

The data available with the UT Electricity Department depicts that city residents do not declare the actual power load. There are 2.01 lakh power consumers in the city but till date only 7.4 per cent (15,000 consumers) have approached the Electricity Department to declare their actual electricity load.
Mohali civic body gets tough with violators
