Police outfit says top officers shielding mining mafia
Rohtak, June 15 The organisation maintained that illegal mining was being carried out in Yamunanagar, Karnal, Panchkula, Panipat, Sonepat, Mewat, Faridabad, Narnaul, Rewari, Gurgaon and Bhiwani districts under patronage of top police officials. Association president Dilawar Singh alleged that Rs 40,000 to Rs 1 lakh per case were openly paid for inter-district transfers in the police department, which were later cancelled. He demanded that an FIR be lodged in the matter. He alleged that up to 30 per cent commission was being taken by the officials concerned in the purchase of spare parts for department vehicles. “There are serious irregularities in ORP promotions, police medals and purchase of uniform for police personnel, which is a big scandal and should be investigated,” he maintained. He pointed out that funds amounting to Rs 2 crore meant for training and diet of RAF personnel had been usurped by senior officials of the department. The welfare fund collected for the constables is spent on luxuries of senior officials at police headquarters. “The police personnel are not able to get home loans as the competent officials do not sign the verification documents. They do not get weekly offs, nor leave as and when required,” he said. Dilawar Singh further maintained that private crane operators were engaged to lift the vehicles parked in no-parking areas. “Of the Rs 500 fine paid by the vehicle-owners, these operators get Rs 400 per vehicle, while only Rs 100 is deposited in the government exchequer, which brings a bad name to the department and tarnishes its image,” he said. He alleged that police personnel and class IV employees were being exploited by senior police officials and political leaders. Department vehicles were also being used for domestic purposes by top officials, he added. The association has given a 45-day ultimatum to the state authorities to address these concerns and fulfil their longstanding demands, failing which a statewide agitation will be launched. Karnal woman found murdered in her house
Karnal, June 15 The murder came to light around 1 pm when a person came to visit her. He found her missing and called in her relatives, neighbours and the police also. Superintendent of Police Abhishek Garg rushed to the spot. Forensic experts collected evidence from the spot. The SP said Bimla was living alone for the past several years. There were strangulation marks on her neck, he said. The actual cause of death would be determined after the post-mortem, the SP said, adding that the police were waiting for her members of family, living at Delhi and Sirsa, to arrive. The SP said, “It seems the killer used to visit the victim frequently as there is no sign of forced entry. Prima facie, there’s no indication of theft or robbery.” A case has been registered against an unknown person under Section 302 of the

Official booked for issuing fake ration cards
Sonepat, June 15 According to information, on March 3 last, as many as 1890 ration cards with official stamp and signature of Inspector Mahender Kumar were found lying in a gunny bag while cleaning of the office premises at Gannaur. These cards were to be issued to the brick-kiln labourers. After the incident, an RTI activist Hardeep of local West Ramnagar sought information from the District Food and Supplies Controller about the list of the fake ration cards issued by Inspector Mahender Kumar to the brick-kiln labourers. Inquiries revealed that these ration cards were allegedly signed by the Inspector during his suspension period. The DC's office sought the entire information and recommended registration of a case against the alleged accused. Anil Kumar, SHO, Gannaur police station, confirmed that a case has been registered against the suspended Inspector. |
Worried Sirsa family shifts rape victim to safe location Aboobshahr (Sirsa), June 15 The woman, who, till today, was living with her parents in Aboobshahr village of Sirsa situated on the Rajasthan borders, alleged that her family had been receiving offers as well as threats for a compromise ever since she moved a criminal complaint against the accused persons in a Jaipur court. An Additional District Court in Jaipur has summoned to Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Nihal Chand Meghwal, a BJP MP from Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan and others directing them to appear before the court on August 20. “Ever since we have taken recourse to legal process to get justice to my granddaughter, we are being offered inducements to reach a compromise. At the same time, we are receiving veiled threats telling us to keep our mouths shut. However, we will not be cowed down by these threats and will fight till we get justice,” said the victim’s 79-year-old grandfather. The family, however, has not approached Sirsa police for protection so far. Meanwhile, the Congress has come out in support of the victim. State Congress chief Ashok Tanwar’s wife Avantika Maken Tanwar, who led a demonstration, said that Meghwal’s case had shown the real face of the Narendra Modi government. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks of minimum government and maximum governance, but his ministers include persons who are accused of raping a hapless woman misusing their authority,” Avantika alleged while addressing party workers at Subhash Chowk, where the Congress activists torched Meghwal’s effigy. She said that Meghwal did not deserve to continue as minister and the PM must sack him immediately. Citing her travails after marriage to Om Prakash Godara, a resident of a village near Pilibanga in Rajasthan, the victim told The Tribune at her Abbobshahr residence that she and her husband shifted to Jaipur after a month of their wedding in December 2010. For the next nine months, she was allegedly drugged a number of times and forced to have sexual relations with many persons who helped Godara in his business. She alleged that the accused persons named by her in the complaint raped her at different times with the connivance of her husband. She alleged that her husband used to drug her before presenting her before any dignitary and prepared CDs by filming the act though CCTV cameras installed in the room. She brought the matter to the notice of her parents, who approached the police for action. When the police did not provide any help, the victim moved a Metropolitan Magistrate in Jaipur with a criminal complaint. An FIR was lodged in Vaishali Nagar Police Station, Jaipur, on the order of the Metropolitan Magistrate, but after investigation, the police filed a closure report finding her allegations fabricated. The court accepted the police closure report on February 10, 2014. However, on her appeal, the Additional District Court has issued summons to Nihal Chand Meghwal and others asking them to appear on August 20. |

Rs 5 govt ‘relief’ for crop damage!
Sutana (Panipat), June 15 His is an isolated case. Suersh is among several farmers from Sutana and nearby villages in Matlauda sub-tehsil of Panipat district to have received “relief”, as the government puts it, of Rs 5, 8 and 10 in cash. No wonder, the meagre compensation has caused resentment among farmers and some of them have refused the amount. “This is a cruel joke on farmers. What is the point in offering Rs 8 as compensation for my damaged wheat crop sown on 2.5 acres,” Suresh said. His namesake, who also got Rs 8 as compensation, said: “One cannot even buy a bundle of ‘beedi’ with this meagre amount. The Revenue Department must tell farmers the basis of deciding the compensation.” Suresh pointed out that the government had fixed Rs 5,500 per acre as compensation for damage to wheat crop. Another farmer Krishan demanded an increase in the compensation amount. “The compensation is not commensurate with the income from the 1 acre of wheat crop. A farmer makes Rs 35,000 from the produce from 1 acre and sells fodder for Rs 10,000. Compare this with the compensation amount of just Rs 5,500.” He demanded Rs 10,000 as compensation for crop loss VS Bathla, District Revenue Officer (DRO), Panipat, said: “The government has provided more than Rs 70 lakh as compensation for damaged crops to hundreds of farmers in eight villages of the Matlauda sub-tehsil.” He further said the compensation was decided by his predecessor after conducting girdwari (revenue survey). “Since there are a number of co-owners of land, the amount was divided and, as a result, some farmers received a meagre sum,” the DRO added. Officialspeak "The compensation was decided by my predecessor after conducting girdwari (revenue survey). Since there are a number of co-owners of the land, the amount was divided and, as a result, some farmers received a meagre sum" VS Bathla, District revenue officer, Panipat ‘A cruel joke’ "Meagre compensation to farmers is nothing, but a cruel joke by the Hooda government. The BKU demands at least Rs 50,000 per acre as compensation for damaged crops. The state should revise the compensation immediately" Chuhar Singh Rawal, BKU district president ‘Govt anti-farmer’"The Hooda government has always acted against the interests of farmers. Providing meagre amount as compensation for damaged crops is another example of that. The INLD will fix adequate compensation for damaged crops if the party returns to power" Krishan Panwar, israna inld mla |
1,500 acres reserved for direct paddy sowing as experiment
Sirsa/Fatehabad, June 15 “As per a state government scheme, the Agriculture Department will give inputs worth Rs 3,000 per acre for the demonstration plots. The inputs include seeds, weedicides and pesticides,” said Fatehabad Deputy Commissioner DK Bahera, adding that experts from the department would visit the plots frequently to give opinion. The department has set a target of bringing 82,000 hectares in Fatehabad under paddy cultivation this season. The Agriculture Department in Sirsa, meanwhile, organised a training programme on the DSR for farmers and field staff recently. “The DSR is a new technique of paddy cultivation that cuts the requirement of labour and water considerably,” Wazir Singh, Deputy Director (Agriculture), Sirsa, said during the programme organised in the auditorium of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK). Dr BR Kamboj, a scientist from the KVK, Yamunanagar, said the technique saved water consumption by 30 per cent and cut the labour requirement significantly. Farmers, however, have not shown interest to shift from the traditional style of sowing to the new technique. The reason: the new technique results in weeds and pest diseases, which is not the case with the traditional transplantation of paddy. To this, Singh said effective weedicides were available to curb

Wild run of ‘Congress grass’ in Faridabad
Faridabad, June 15 “All available open spaces in residential areas, including green belts and footpaths, have been occupied with the wild growth of Congress grass. The issue has failed to attract attention of officials concerned, who hardly miss an opportunity to put boards, urging residents to keep the city clean,” claimed Mukesh Sharma of Sector 7. “With no strategy in place to tackle the problem, the unwanted vegetation threatens to occupy green belts and walking spaces in residential areas. The situation can turn worse with the onset of monsoon,” said an official of the Health Department on the condition of anonymity. Such wild growth has its health hazards. “Any contact with Congress grass can cause skin allergies such as eczema and asthma,” said Dr HC Gupta, a skin specialist here. Sources in the Municipal Corporation said there was no permanent action plan to address the issue, but instructions were issued to officials for cutting the wild vegetation at regular intervals. Deadly weed
Parthenium Hysterphorous or Congress grass is known to be a deadly weed for both humans and animals alike, apart from being dangerous for the flora of the region, including crops. Experts say one plant of Parthenium can produce up to 30,000 seeds that can propagate rapidly with wind |
Groundwater level in Faridabad dips, courtesy tubewells
Faridabad, June 15 “The decline in the water table is perhaps because of a large number of tubewells that are being sunk in the district every year, especially during the summer when the city faces shortage of drinking water,” says a source in the Municipal Corporation Faridabad. While around 50 tubewells are abandoned every year due to fall in the groundwater level, the civic body sinks around 100 tubewells each year to replace the older ones to meet the growing demand for water in this industrial city. Reports say the city gets its water supply through around 1,000 tubewells, including 600 large ones, to meet its daily needs. Besides, several dozen tubwells are operated by private companies or persons to supply bottled drinking water in the city and neighbouring area, including the NCR. A bottling plant owned by a politician produces several hundred litres of bottled water per day. It is located close to the Delhi border. “The operation of some bottling plants in Surajkund has had an adverse impact since the famous Badkhal lake has gone dry,” claimed a source in the tourism department. It is claimed that while the water table slips by around 1.5 metre per year in the area where tubewells are operational, officials concerned admit that the boring depth has risen continuously over the past few years in some areas. “The problem has aggravated due to the presence of private tubewells and bottling plants, which supply thousands of gallons of potable water to residents. The water supplied through the MCF tubewells is brackish and is unfit for consumption,” says KL Gera, a social activist. The ambitious Ranneywell water scheme has failed to take off due to various factors. This has perhaps been the reason behind excessive exploitation of the groundwater and the rise of water mafia in the city. The Central Ground Water Board, which had listed Faridabad in the “Dark Zone” category in 2001, says the fluoride content in water has gone up to 2.3 milligram per litre in some areas. Though it has recommended the implementation of the rainwater harvesting system to arrest the decline in the water table, all plans remain on paper so far. City’s water dependence

Hooda reaches out to backward classes with increase in quota
Jind, June 15 Hooda made the announcement at a state-level Backward Classes-A category sammelan organised by Dr Ram Parkash, the party’s former state president. Hooda said the backward classes were the backbone of the Congress and had always stood by the party. “We understand that some wrong decisions by some state leaders troubled the Backward Classes-A category. We have taken this decision to rectify the earlier mistakes,” the CM said, as he sought to take credit for the increase in reservation. Unable to hide his frustration over the results of the Lok Sabha elections, he requested Backward Classes-A category to support the Congress in the Assembly elections. State Committee chief Ashok Tanwar also urged the people to forget the Lok Sabha results and support the Congress. “The Congress has always supported backward and economical backward categories. We will take all pending decisions for the welfare of the backward classes in the days to come,” said Tanwar. The announcement is bound to cause heartburn among other categories.
Tek Ram Kandela, national convener of Sarv Khap Panchayat, said the state government should think about the welfare of all categories and not indulge in caste politics. |
BKU all set to take on Centre over Swaminathan recommendations
Karnal, June 15 One group of the BKU (Nain Group) will protest and burn the effigy of the Union Agriculture Minister tomorrow in Karnal. They will later protest at all district headquarters for the implementation of the commission’s recommendations. The second group of the BKU (Arya Group) will protest in Delhi in August. They demanded some amendments to those recommendations. Rattan Mann, senior vice-president, BKU (Nain Group), said, “The BJP-led Centre is following in the footsteps of the last UPA government on this issue. The former government had made fool of the farmers and during that time, the BJP was supporting us. Now they don’t seem to be serious about implementing the recommendations.” He said they would be organise a ‘kisan mahapanchayat’ on August 15 in Karnal to plan the future course of action, said Mann, adding that the recommendations of the commission would play a vital role in the growth of the farmers. Sewa Singh Arya, state president (Arya Group), demanded that the recommendations of the commission be implemented with some amendments. “The government has to review the rates of production cost of seeds, labour, pesticides, rent of the land and others,” he said. |

Guar experiment flops, farmers return to cotton
Sirsa, June 15 The sowing this year is much higher than last year’s figures of 5.03 lakh hectares, when a large number of farmers opted for guar crop in the hope of good remuneration. However, guar prices hovered around Rs 5,000 a quintal throughout the year, much lower than the preceding year, when the crop was sold for as much as Rs 33,000 a quintal. With the average yield of guar being around five quintals an acre, most farmers who went in for guar appeared disillusioned with the crop. On the contrary, cotton gave an average yield of seven quintals an acre and its price hovered between Rs 6,000 and Rs 7,000 a quintal. “A survey of the standing crop has revealed there were no pests or insects and the plants are growing well. Hence, we are expecting a bumper crop this year,” said Dr Anoop Singh. Sirsa district, the largest producer of cotton in the state, too, has crossed its target of sowing the crop on two lakh hectares. The sowing has buoyed cotton ginning industries that are in abundance in Sirsa. “The industry is happy that after a year of lesser sowing, farmers have switched to cotton in a big way this year. A good
crop will give a boost to the business,” said Gurpreet Singh Nagpal, a partner in Royal Cotgin, Sirsa, and secretary of the Sirsa Cotton Manufacturers Association. Money Matters

Veggie delight: Prices at record low
Hisar, June 15 According to information, the arrival of fresh onion has led to prices being slashed by half in a month. While a kilo of onion cost Rs 30 in May, the bulb is now available at Rs 12 per kg in retail. Potato prices have stabilised around Rs 20 per kg for some time while the tomatoes have recorded a slide of over 100 per cent. From Rs 20 per kg about two months back, tomatoes are now freely available for Rs 10. Similarly, other vegetables such as ladyfinger, bottle gourd, bitter gourd, capsicum, ridge gourd, cucumber and pumpkin that usually had high prices especially in the summer are available for Rs 10 to Rs 15 a kg in retail, a reduction of around 100 per cent. However, round gourd continues to be on the higher side, as it is available for around Rs 20 per kg. Women are relieved at the low vegetables prices. “The high prices of veggies had disturbed our budget for a long time. Prices soared every summer due to shortage of vegetables triggered by heat conditions. The current prices are a welcome surprise,” said a woman in Sector 15 here. Wholesale Vegetables Agent Association general secretary Vinod Kumar said it was unusual for vegetables to be available at these rates at this times of the year. “The rates are decided by availability and demand. Since vegetables are available aplenty, a price war is on in the wholesale as well as retail market that seems to have brought prices to a record low. Most green vegetables are brought to the market by farmers from nearby villages. These farmers have started selling the produce directly to customers by making the rounds of residential areas or putting up stalls along the main roads at wholesale rates,” he said. Ramdhari Singh, a farmer of Bahlabpur village, said he got a record yield of cucumber in the greenhouse and expected good returns. “Tough competition has forced me to sell produce at Rs 5-6 per kg in the wholesale market.” |

2 Faridabad police posts get women heads
Faridabad, June 15 Describing this as a positive development, Jagjit, head of the RWA, said with her appointment, the women residents would feel safer and would be able to approach the police without any hesitation. He said while the incumbent here, so far, had been a male cop, female residents felt uncomfortable in seeking help due to the reasons well known. Sunita assured help and support to the residents, especially women. Indu Bala (28), has been appointed at the police post located in Parvatiya Colony in the NIT area. “Both cops are probationers but have been given the charge after they were found ready to accept the challenge,” said AS Chawla, Police Commissioner. He said while the police commissionerate here had successfully launched a ‘safe women’ campaign, the appointment of women cops as in charge of the police posts was also a move towards improving policing in the region. The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had recently asked the local police authorities on the number of women cops in the city and the district, as it is reported that the MHA was interested in deploying more number of women cops in the NCR. The police department has over 220 women policemen posted in the district. These include two inspectors, 10 SI, 11 ASI, 10 head constables and 174 constables. There are three women PCR's and three women cells to handle the cases of crime against women. Women's safety assured

GJU varsity VC mulls return to politics?
Rewari, June 15 A signature campaign to garner support for reservation was launched in the district’s Kund town yesterday. The VC was present during the campaign launch. The student outfit, under the guidance of Ranga, carried out similar drives in Sirsa and Fatehabad districts. Ranga served as the Health Minister in Om Prakash Chautala government after being elected legislator from Bawal (reserved) Assembly segment in Rewari district in 2000. He had defeated former minister Shakuntala Bhagwaria of the Congress by a significant margin. He contested the elections on the INLD ticket after resigning from the post of vice chancellor of Kurukshetra University. He later quit the INLD and joined the Congress in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda at a rally in Rohtak in 2009. In 2010, he was appointed VC of Hisar’s GJUST and got three-year extension in 2013. Sources said that through this campaign, Ranga was exploring the possibility of returning to active politics ahead of the Assembly elections. He, however, told The Tribune today: “It is not a political campaign. The student organisation is raising a serious issue that concerns the state’s educated but unemployed youths who are struggling to get their due. As per rules, every industrial unit is supposed to provide 20 per cent of jobs to local youths but unfortunately, this is not so.” Ranga clarified that the campaign should not be construed as a political move, as it was being run across the state to protect the youth’s future. |

Upload result details of public posts: High Court
Chandigarh, June 15 The directions came on petitions by Vikas Sharma and another petitioner through counsel Anu Chatrath Kapur. They were seeking the quashing of publishing only the roll numbers of candidates selected as Post-Graduate Teacher (Commerce), without disclosing the merit, marks and the details of the selected and unselected candidates, including name and parentage. During the course of hearing, the High Court on April 26 directed the floating of results on websites. In compliance with the orders, counsel for the HSSC stated requisite information has been displayed on the website, which would be available for 15 days. In future also, it would be displayed for 15 days from the declaration of results. But HPSC argued the directions would amount to display of candidates’ personal information to the public, which would amount to causing unwarranted invasion into the privacy of an individual. Disposing of the petition, Justice Masih asserted: “I am of the view that the order needs to be complied with even by the HPSC…. It has been categorically held that information relating to the marks obtained by each of the candidate cannot be said to be personal information….” Justice Masih ruled: “In order to bring transparency and dispel doubts, if any, in the minds of the candidates who have participated in the selection, it would be proper to direct uploading of the information about the results relating to all public posts by all public authorities concerned. “This would reduce litigation under the Right to Information Act, which results in wastage of time, energy and money, both of the candidates and the public authorities. This will enhance the credibility of the authorities making selection which would be in public interest…. “A direction is issued to the HPSC to comply with the order dated April 26 in toto…. This would apply to the selections which have been held by the HPSC results of which have been declared from March 2014 onwards. “It is made clear that these directions shall not be specific to the selection in question in the present writ petition but would be a perpetual mandamus for the HPSC, HSSC and HSTSB for all selections to be made by these authorities in future as well”. |

Jind hospital reduced to ‘referral’ facility
Jind, June 15 Why? The hospital lacks facilities to deal with such and several other cases. Be it patients suffering from accidental and bullet injuries or poisoning or heart attack, all are referred to other hospitals. As per an estimate, the hospital authorities refer more than 10 patients per day to the Rohtak’s Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS). Till May, 2070 patients have been referred to other hospitals. This scenario has reduced the hospital to a mere “referral” health facility. “I did not expect that my pregnant sister-in-law would be referred to the PGIMS. After keeping her here for several hours, doctors gave a referral slip, saying the hospital does not have a required doctor to conduct the Cesarean. If the staff cannot conduct a delivery here, why the Haryana Government has constructed this big building,” said Sunil, waiting for an ambulance to shift his patient to the PGIMS. But referral slips are no guarantee that the patient will be treated in time as Rohtak is 59 km from here. Traffic jams create problems and patients reach the PGIMS after two hours. Many have lost their lives on way to Rohtak Doctors admit that a majority of the injuries is curable, but for the lack of facilities, patients are referred to the PGIMS. “If the hospital is equipped with MRI and CT scan facilities, minor head injuries can be cured here,” a doctor, on the condition of anonymity, said. “We have written to the government on the lack facilities and vacant posts at the hospital. Hopefully things will improve,” said Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Manjula

3 docs for 30,000 at Bahadurgarh’s ESI dispensary
Bahadurgarh (Jhajjar), June 15 This is the state of affairs at the dispensary of Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Health Care Scheme in Haryana located at Quilla Mohalla of this industrial town. Doctors as well as patients have been facing a lot of problems due to the lack of basic amenities at the dispensary, which ideally provides medical aid free of cost to the labourers working with thousands of industries in the area. Significantly, the dispensary staff has informed the state authorities, several times about the deplorable state of the health centre, but no action has been taken so far to redress the grievances. The doctors have to work for several hours to treat a large number of patients. “We treat over 500 patients daily, despite shortage of doctors and other supportive staff in the dispensary. As per rules, five doctors should be appointed for 10,000 labourers, but we barely have three doctors for over 30,000 registered labourers in Bahadurgarh. At least 12 more doctors are required to cope up with the situation,” says Dr Krishan Kumar Jakhar, Medical Officer (MO) of the dispensary. The ESI Health Care Scheme is being run by the Labour Department to protect the interest of workers in sickness, temporary or permanent physical disablement, resulting in loss of wages or earning capacity and death due to employment injury. Under this scheme, the state government is accountable to provide comprehensive medical care to industrial workers and their dependents. Dr Jakhar maintains, “Earlier, there were three ESI dispensaries at different places in Bahadurgarh to treat labourers. Though the dispensaries were merged later, but the authorities did not increase the staff here. No gynaecologist is available in the dispensary and therfiore women patients have to go to general hospital for treatment.” |

HSGPC to invite Hooda to July 6 meeting
Tribune News Service
Chandigarh, June 15 Addressing a press conference here today, Jhinda said the matter had been hanging fire for two terms of the Congress. “The Congress first promised a separate SGPC for Haryana in its election manifesto of 2005 and reiterated its commitment to the Sikhs in 2009. The third election is approaching and our demand continues to be shelved. Despite taking affidavits from Sikhs of Haryana who favoured a separate body on the lines of the Delhi SGPC, the government has not taken the issue forward,” said Jhinda. He said the Punjab Re-organisation Act 1966 passed by Parliament provided for a separate SGPC to Haryana. He said the successive Haryana governments established a separate agriculture university in Hisar, a university in Kurukshetra, but conveniently ignored the creation of a separate SGPC. “We raised the demand in 2000 after which the Congress promised its creation. At the July 6 conference, we intend to invite Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Finance Minister Harmohinder Singh Chatha, the chairman of the committee, to consider our demand. We also expect Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to help our cause instead of causing hurdles in the realisation of the demand,” he added. |
State to promote solar power
Chandigarh, June 15 Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said here today that this would lead to generation of 200 MW of power, annual saving of Rs 151 crore on coal and 16.60 lakh kilolitres of water. The annual energy saving by implementing the mandatory provisions will be 320 m units. Three lakh MT of annual carbon emission will also be prevented in the atmosphere. Residential buildings built on a 500 square yard plot and above falling within the MC limits and HUDA/HSIIDC sectors, the mandatory installation of solar power plant will be of minimum 1 kW or 5 per cent of connected load, whichever is higher. All private schools, educational institutes, colleges, hostels, technical, vocational education institutes, DIETs, and universities having connected load of 30 kW and above will have the mandatory installation of solar power plant of minimum 5 kW or 5 per cent of connected load, whichever is higher. For government buildings, offices, government colleges, educational institutions, universities, having load of 30 kW and above, it will be mandatory for them to install solar power plant of minimum 2 kW or 5 per cent of connected load, whichever is higher. |
Ballabgarh to have computer test facility for DL seekers
Faridabad, June 15 An official of the district administration said the facility of computer test for driving license seekers would be made available near the SDM office at Ballabgarh soon. He said there was always a heavy rush at the office at the Mini-secretariat and applicants from Ballabgarh had to face a lot of inconvenience had made the authorities provide the facility there also. The facility is expected to start from Monday. “The move to provide such a facility at Ballabgarh city was though belated, but a welcome step in view of the problem being faced by a large number of applicants,” claimed Vinod Kumar, a Ballabgarh resident. He said it was awkward that despite being a subdivision, where licences were being issued already, appearing for the test at another place was inconvenient.
