Man arrested for raping wife’s student

Civic body fixes parking fee

To make sure contractors do not fleece commuters by charging excessive fee, the municipal corporation has set rates for major parking lots in the city.
Except for the parking lot on Ferozepur Road, the rate of parking vehicles will be the same at all newly introduced lots.

Get your Head Post Office account verified by June 23

With core banking services (CBS) all set to begin at the Head Post Office
(HPO), Senior Postmaster Swaraj Kaur has asked account holders to get their accounts verified by June 23.
All saving schemes, including saving account, monthly-income scheme, public provident fund scheme, recurring deposit, senior citizen saving scheme and recurring account, will now be a part of the CBS offered at the post office.

On a call given by the Punjab Chemists Association, retail chemist shops remained closed in the city today. The chemists are protesting against the police raids on their shops.
Stocks worth lakhs were gutted in a fire that broke out at Venus Factory on the Jalandhar bypass. The fire was notice at around 9:35 am. Though no casualty was reported, material, including thread, was destroyed in the fire.
