Dell clears the air over closure of unit

Confusion prevailed today over the issue of the closing down of operations by Dell at Mohali. A press release issued by the Public Relations Department here first claimed that Dell International India Private Limited would not close down its operations at Mohali and no employee would be fired. Cross-examination ends in CBI court

The ongoing cross-examination in the high profile Jyoti murder case was closed in the CBI court today. The court, however, asked that the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Chandigarh, to produce reports related to the crime in the court in the next 10 days.

In yet another incident of dog bite, the Chandigarh Police arrested a Sector 46 resident whose pet dog bit a 10-year-old child staying in the neighbourhood.

Man held on rape charge
Mohali, June 6
A man has been arrested on the charge of raping a girl on the pretext of getting her a job. The police said Charanjit Singh of Forozepur, the suspect, has been arrested and a case under Sections 376 and 342 of the IPC has been registered against him. At present, he is staying at a rented accommodation in Sohana village here.
