3 bikers killed in mishaps:
Motorcyclist Kuldeep Singh (25) of village Killianwali died when a tractor-trailer hit him on Defense Road on Wednesday night. In another incident, Sukh Ram (23) and Satnam Singh (27) died when their motorcycles collided on Chanana Dhaam Road in Sriganganagar on Wednesday.

12 gamblers nabbed: The police arrested 12 gamblers and seized Rs 6.45 lakh near Bhagat Singh Chowk in Sadulshehar, 31 km from here, on Wednesday night. The gambling den was located in an abandoned de-addiction center. People from nearby states arrived here to gamble.

Criminal escapes from custody: Former Rajasthan Police constable Bahadur Singh, who was facing trial in a series of crimes, escaped from police custody on Wednesday. He was returning to prison after attending a court hearing. Head constable Guman Singh, constables Babu Lal, Prem Sukh and Rajinder Kumar, who were escorting him back to the prison, have been booked.

Bathinda
Man held with smack:
Though the Chief Minister denied the presence of drug peddlers in the Bathinda Central Jail, the police today claimed to have arrested a drug supplier, identified as Arshdeep Singh of Bathinda, with two grms of smack. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act.

Faridkot
NRI alleges rape:
An NRI from Singapore has alleged that she was raped when she was in Faridkot on a vacation. The police have registered a case against six persons, including four women. The victim said she went to Faridkot to visit her Toronto-based sister's family friends, who forced her to marry a boy.

Drop case against workers: AAP:
A delegation of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday met senior police and administrative officials demanding cancellation of FIR against party workers for holding a protest in Mukerian. The officials assured them that they would reconsider the matter. The AAP workers were held after they blocked the national highway in protest against alleged police inaction in a murder case.

Sangrur
7 remanded in flesh trade case:
A Sunam court on Thursday remanded seven persons, including three women, in judicial custody for 14 days in a case under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. They were arrested by the Sunam police on Wednesday.

Godown gutted: A large quantity of waste plastic bags was gutted in a fire in at a godown on the Dhuri-Sangrur road on Thursday. The shed of the godown was also damaged. Labh Singh, sub-fire officer, said two fire engines from Sangrur and one from KRBL factory, Bhasaur, were pressed into service. Godown owner claimed he had suffered a loss of Rs 2 lakh.

Farmers protest against co-operative bank:
Farmers under the banner of Kisan Sangarsh Committee (KSC) staged a dharna outside the local Central Co-Operative Bank. They were demanding release of the relief amount as approved by the Union Government for customers of cooperative societies. Sawinder Chutala, general secretary, KSC, said Rs 1.90 crore was released as relief on interest. Senior Manager Bachitter Singh, said the amount had not been released due to shortage of staff.

Free diet facility extended:
The Haryana Government has decided to extend the facility of free diet to sick newborn children up to one year from one month at present, as well as to his mother, admitted to government health institutes in the state. Besides, cashless treatment, diagnostics, blood transfusion and referral facilities will be given to newborns.
