Girl's death triggers public outrage

Up in arms against the district police, family members and relatives of three-year-old Natasha, who was crushed to death under her school van at Bator village yesterday afternoon, blocked the busy Panchkula-Yamunanagar National Highway No. 73 by keeping her body on the road in front of the Barwala police post here today.

‘Duplicate’ omnipaque: PGI constitutes probe team

Nearly 10 days after a PGI doctor complained that water was found inside a pack of omnipaque, saving a heart patient in whom the fluid was to be injected from serious complications, the institution today constituted a committee to probe the matter.

Engineer dies in mishap

A 20-year-old mechanical engineer, Kamal Kishore, was killed when his scooter was hit by a Mahindra pickup near the Sector 34/35 light point early this morning. Kishore was taken to the PGI, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Mohali resident robbed
Chandigarh, April 17
Desraj, a resident of Jhujjhar Nagar in Mohali district, alleged that three to four unidentified persons robbed Rs 1800, two mobile phones and some documents from near the road separating Sectors 51 and 52.Later on, the police swung into action and arrested the accused, identified as Anil Kumar, a resident of Sector 52, Chandigarh, Gurmeet Kumar, resident of Nehru Colony, Sector 52, Sunil Kumar and one juvenile have been arrested in the case.
