Artificial limbs provided:
Artificial limbs were provided to 24 persons at a free medical camp organised by Shanker Dass Daulat Ram Nagpal Charitable Trust here on Saturday. Health Department Deputy Director Rakesh Arora lauded the efforts of a social activist, Jagdish Chander Nagpal (88), in organising such camps.

Hoshiarpur
Illicit liquor seized:
The police claimed to have seized illicit liquor and arrested a man in this connection. The accused, Surinder Pal of Dhugga Kalan, was held with 15 bottles of liquor from Garhdiwala village. In another case, the police seized 18 bottles of liquor during a raid at a tub well room in Bhagowal village. Cases under Sections 1, 14 and 61 of the Excise Act against Surinder and tube well owner Sukhdeep Singh, alias Sonu, were registered.

Sangrur
287 units of blood donated:
A district-level blood donation camp was organised by Dera Sacha Sauda at Naam Charcha Ghar on Saturday. As many as 287 followers of the dera, and others, donated blood at the camp. The Sangrur Blood Bank team collected 110 units of blood and the Malerkotla Blood Bank team collected 177 units.

Chamba
Charas seized:
The police seized 3.7 kg charas from a passenger at Vehi village near Koti here yesterday, SP DK Chaudhary said. He said the police on traffic duty at Vehi village, intercepted a bus, which was going to Chamba. On checking, the police recovered the charas from Govind Ram. A case was registered and the accused arrested.
