The eight-lane road from the Sidhwan Canal to Octroi Post is fast turning into a killer stretch.
This could be attributed to the road’s ‘poor design’, which has been constructed only to cater to fast-moving vehicles, while no provision has been made for slow-moving vehicles.

Kidnapping: 6 booked

The city police have booked six persons for allegedly kidnapping a person from Sangowal village.
The accused identified as Ganni and Kasam along with their four accomplices, all hailing from Kapurthala, allegedly barged into the house of one Baag Hussain and kidnapped him.
Man held for illegal mining

The Jagraon police and Mining Department officials have arrested one person for alleged illegal mining and smuggling of sand from the
Sutlej, while two of his accomplices managed to escape from the scene taking advantage of darkness. The police have also confiscated an Arjun tractor laden with illegal sand.
