7 students caught cheating in PSEB exam
Ludhiana, March 25
As many as seven students were caught using unfair means during the Class X science examination of the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) across the district today. The Education Department had constituted 39 teams to prevent cheating in the examinations.

Police tighten noose around bookies; 4 held

Staff shortage mars works
Ludhiana, March 25
The civic body is facing an acute shortage of technical staff. As per norms, the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation needs at least 111 engineers. It, however, has only 33 engineers in the Building and Roads Department, with the majority of them being senior officials (executive engineers and superintending engineers).

Non-board classes
PSEB to announce results on March 31
Ludhiana, March 25
After the teachers of government schools raised hue and cry, the education department changed the dates of result for non-board classes. According to the fresh directions, now the result of non-board classes will be announced on March 31 and the parents-teachers meeting will be held on April 7. Earlier, the Education Department had given instructions to hold the parents teachers meeting on April 26 to announce the results.

Industrial visit
Ludhiana: An industrial visit to Kandhari Beverages Private Limited, Nabhipur plant, was organised by the Department of Business Administration, RIMT-Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mandi Gobindgarh. The visit was organized for the students of MBA final year. The objective of the visit was to give industrial exposure to the students and to familiarise them with the mechanism used for bottling and to show them practicalities of the Quality and Marketing Department.

Ludhiana: A validation workshop was organised under the chairmanship of Vinod Thapar, chairman, Knitwear Club at Hotel Gulmor to conduct an on-site analysis of the business dynamics and need assessment of Ludhiana Knitwear Cluster with a view to doing its gap analysis in order to work out an action plan to enhance the cluster competitiveness. The workshop was organized by Apex cluster development services which is the field agency selected for the diagnostic purpose by SIDBI which is the nodal agency for the upcoming project.
