3 held with spurious milk: The Moga police have seized 24,000 litres of spurious milk filled in two tankers and arrested 3 persons, including a village sarpanch. The owners of the milk processing factory involved in the scam are evading arrest. The arrested accused have been identified as sarpanch Kulbir Singh and truck drivers Gurdip Singh of Khai village and Jasbir Singh of Lohara village. 4 killed in road mishaps: Rakesh Kumar (32) of Saloh village and his two-year-old son Prince were killed while his wife Seema Rani (30) and infant daughter were injured when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding bus near Behram village on the Phagwara-Banga road. In another mishap, Rajeev Kumar Sharma (33) of Apra village and his daughter Vanisha (8) were killed and his wife Pooja and son Nikhil (3) were injured when their motorcycle collided with a four-wheeler near Mallpur village. 3 booked in dowry case: A 25-year-old married woman, Pooja Rani, resident of Dhuri, about 15 km from here, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house. Sources said she took the drastic step as her in-laws had allegedly been harassing her for more dowry. Station House Officer (SHO) Satnam Singh said on the complaint of Pooja’s mother Veero Rani, Pooja’s husband Bunti Kumar, two sisters-in-law Poonam and Mukesh Kumari had been booked. However, no arrest has been made so far.
